Palms - but not trees

Hey guys! Ever looked at your hand? Maybe your child's while they were sleeping? Ever noticed all of the things your hands can do? Try moving the fingers, feel the sensation in the fingertips. This is an amazing thing!!

But i want to tell you about something else - the Palmar Aponeurosis - wow, that is a fantastic word - might want to work that into the conversation around the chips and salsa bowl at your super bowl party!

What is it?

Well, look at your wrist and make a fist - see those tendons? then they disappear into the hand!

well, they tendons of the hand need to be fixed in place side to side, but they also need to move back and forth normally so you can move your fingers - otherwise your tendons would be slipping all over the place whenever you used your hand and that would not be good!!!

It is our friend the palmar aponeurosis that holds them in place - like a blanket draped over some logs in a campsite, as my partner said the other day, except that it is vacuum sucked aganist them and allows free movement!!

This is an amazingly intricate design!! And all so that you can hold the hand of the one you love - so that you can express yourself with not just your voice but your hands - so that you can point that finger at the child who is misbehaving - so that i can type this blog post out!

Now, some people would try to convince you that this intricacy happened by accident - that somehow it just all happened like this - ludicrous - this screams of a wonderful God who loves very much and has designed us beautifully.

Now, the cool thing about this is that a God who goes to all the trouble of loving and making a hand so amazingly would nto abandon you! He loves you.

So, you may be having some hard times, but there is a God who love you very much and living life with Him will not make all the bad things go away, but it is better than living without Him! And to remind yourself of Him, all you need to do is wave...

So, my advice is that you notice your hands, they are amazing, and when you do, just thank Him for your hands and invite Him into your day - it might just change your day.

January 26th 6:45-8:00PM

Hey everyone! I am reminding you that we will be hanging out this Thursday night, 6:45-8:00PM at McAllister Recreation Center, just off 20th and Schuyler Ave, Lafayette. There is free childcare for the kids and a fantastic group of teens and tweens as well.

More than more is a group of people who are sick of the usual American way - we want to find something More in life...and we are. This in no way minimizes the pain in our lives - we are living/have lived in some of the most painful circumstances imaginable and yet we find that as we begin to notice, life starts to change.

if you are searching for something More, we would love to have you join us - laugh a little, be cared about, for who you are, and dont be surprised if you find yourself a little more hopeful...

we hope to see you there.
