Thanksgiving and Mtm
Hi everyone!
Hope you are all having a great beginning to your holiday season!
Needless to say, our last Mtm Thursday was not a time together, as it fell on Thanksgiving day - so, I hope you all had turkey and pie and enjoyed the day with other people you love.
But, now that we are in the throws of the holiday season, you might wanna take a break from the crazy and hang out with us a Mtm this Thursday night, December 6th, at McAllister Recreation center - just off 20th and Schuyler Ave, Lafayette.
As always, we will be hanging out from 645-800 PM and will have free, excellent childcare for kids thru 7th grade. Older kids are welcome to hang out at the recreation center and play and use their facilities, which were made for fun.
Mtm is a great time to relax, laugh, and enjoy some people who care about you not for what you provide to them , but just because you are you.
Each time we gather together, we notice the wonder in this world given by a God who truly loves - seeking to move beyond the more of this and more of that mindset which seems to dominate our world. And we savor the wonder and brokenness of each other and the people around us by looking for ways to notice people. It is a good reminder of what life is really about.

Morethanmore tomorrow night!
Hey everyone! We had a great outreach 2wks ago. It was so good to be together and serve - sharing the goodness of God's love with some folks who needed it.
We will be back at McAllister Rec Center this Thursday night, the 8th of November, from 645-800pm - it is always a great time and we look forward to sharing the evening with you.

Outreach Thursday Oct 25th
Hey guys!
This coming Mtm, this Thursday, the 25th of October, we will have an outreach. We will be serving Jerry and Janet's friends Shane and Cari and their kids Bridget (toddler) and Caleb (infant).
Cari was diagnosed w stage 4 cancer when Caleb was just a baby and has been going thru chemo all summer and still (her next dose is actually Thursday, but she will be back for the outreach).
We will be meeting at their house (6343 w 200 n, Delphi, IN, 46923) at 6:00 Thursday evening. Mtm will provide dinner.
We will be working on a paver walk from the driveway to the back patio door (already started), so they can get Cari from the car to the house when she needs to use a wheelchair.
so, need shovels, work gloves, strong backs
Also pruning some trees
so, need tree saws, step ladders, work gloves, loppers (if anyone has one, maybe an extension chain saw)
and moving a bunch of firewood
so, we need work gloves, and maybe a couple wheelbarrows
and organizing and cleaning out a shed
so, some organizing minds ready to work
We will meet there at 6. If you are sick, please do not plan to go into the house, as we do not want to get Cari sick, but her immune system will not be bad on this day, so everyone who is not sick is ok to use the inside for restrooms.
If you are able to go early, please shoot me a text, as some people may be there early. Please follow the weather carefully, as it may be cold - dress appropriately.
Also, the road they live on is kinda busy, but they own a lot of land, so just make sure you are aware of where your kids are - and the kids are more than welcome!
It is always good to get out and serve some people and share the goodness of God's love w people - and the more hands we have the more blessing we tend to give, not to mention the quicker and the more work we can do - so, plan to join us!!

Thursday is Mtm!!
Hey everyone! This Thursday, the 30th of August, from 645-800pm is Morethanmore. We will be hanging out at McAllister Recreation Center - just off 20th and Schuyler ave, in Lafayette.
It is always an enjoyable time - full of laughter and goodness.

Outreach Next Thursday the 16th!!
Hey everyone!
Mtm is a group that is centered around noticing
- noticing the wonder and goodness of God in everyday life, and then looking for ways to connect w Him in our everyday lives
and
- noticing the people around us - that they are hurting and broken just like we are, and yet that they are wonderful and amazingly made, just like we are - and looking for ways to reach out into their worlds and serve/love them well
We are trying to LIVE out a better way in this crazy world that is so consumed w getting more, being more, becoming more, achieving more, buying more, etc.
A part of that has always been that we try to serve - to love people w practical things.
But, we always try to serve people we know and in personal ways that grow our relationships - basically, our service is part of and an extension of, our noticing - we notice, we care, we love - many times with practical service (either personally, or as a group)
Over the years, this has taken the shape of many outreach projects - and this coming Thursday, the 16th, we will have another outreach.
These are super fun and you need to plan to be there.
This time, we will be working to clean up the yard of a friend of ours, Kathy, at her house:
738 Main St
Dayton, IN 47941.
This will begin at 6:30. We will meet at her house - and there will be dinner. We will finish when we finish, but i will be before dark.
We will be doing:
Trimming bushes, trees, etc - so we need loppers, trimmers, saws, ladders, tarps, pruners, step stools
Draining a water heater/checking it - hot water has a funny smell
Flower bed clean out, pull all weeds - so we need shovels, hand tools, gloves, weeding tools
Cutting down some small trees - rope, saws, maybe pick axe for stumps
Moving some stuff around in the house - need strong backs and arms
and anything else you can think we might need for these projects.
We really hope to see you there - it will be a great time.
